Safety data

Alkylbenzene sulfonic acid (acid type products in TAYCAPOWER series)
Aromatic sulfonic acid (TAYCATOX series)
Classification of danger and harm
Applicable law Class 4 danger according to Fire Service Law --- no significant danger
Danger Water-prohibiting substance
Harm Generation of harmful gas when exposed to heat, flames and water. Hazardous if the gas enters eyes or contacts the skin.
Environmental pollution Do not discharge into rivers.
Properties Liquid, water soluble
Emergency remedies
When it enters eyes Flush with plenty of water for more than 15 minutes.
When it contacts the skin Take off clothes and shoes immediately, and wash with plenty of water for more than 15 minutes.
When it is inhaled Rest in a place with fresh air circulation, and keep warm. If breathing difficulty is experienced, oxygen or artificial respiration is necessary.
When it is swallowed Gargle thoroughly with plenty of water. Do not induce vomiting, and seek medical attention.
Emergency response to a fire
Fire in surrounding area Promptly move the container to a safe place. If it cannot be moved, spray water on the container and surrounding area to cool.
Fire extinguishing agent Water spray, foam, non-combustible gas, powder fire extinguishers, dry chemicals, etc.
Emergency response to leakage
Emergency response to leakage Evacuate people from the downwind area. Cover the mouth and nose with a wet towel, if necessary. Rope off the leakage area to prohibit the entry of people.
Wear protective gear when responding to leakage. Do not work in the downwind area.
Minor leakage
Wipe the leaked material with cloths, and wash off with plenty of water.
Major leakage
Use soil or sand to contain the leakage and adsorb the leaked material or lead it to a safe place. Dilute the leaked material by spraying plenty of water from a distance, then neutralize it with hydrated lime, soda ash, etc., and wash off with plenty of water.
Protective gear
Protective gloves (rubber), protective boots (rubber), protective clothes (rubber), protective goggles, gas mask designed for protection against poison gas or acid gas
Cautions in handling and storage
  • (1) Keep the product away from combustible and organic materials.
  • (2) If the product comes into sudden contact with a small amount of water, it can produce a large amount of heat and cause an acidic material to splash.
  • (3) Water-diluted acid solution corrodes various types of metals and produces hydrogen gas, which can ignite and cause an explosion when mixed with air.
  • (4) Direct spraying of a neutralizing agent on the product can produce heat and cause an acidic material to splash.
Alkylbenzene sulfonic acid neutralizer (neutralizer-type products in TAYCAPOWER series)
Alkylsufate (TAYCALITE series)
Alkylether sufate (TAYCAPOL series)

Emergency response to a fire
Fire in surrounding area Promptly move the container to a safe place. The product does not burn under normal condition.

Fire extinguishing agent Water spray, foam, non-combustible gas, powder fire extinguishers, dry chemicals, etc.
Emergency response to leakage
Emergency response to leakage Wear protective gear (protective goggles, rubber boots, rubber gloves, etc.) when working with leakage. Be careful of slippery surface.
Minor leakage
Wipe the leaked material with cloths, and wash off with plenty of water.
Major leakage
Use soil or sand to contain the leakage, adsorb the leaked material with sand or collect as much spilled material as possible with a container using a shovel or ladle. Then, wash off with plenty of water. When cleaning, do not allow water with a high level of material concentration to flow into a river.
Protective gear
Protective gloves (rubber), protective boots (rubber), protective clothes (rubber), protective goggles
